I SO agree with your sig about reading the manuals!

Many people just don't bother. Though the Manual for Lionheart is full of errors.

At least, my copy is. Maybe it was corrected later.
Anyway - to your question. Ravager will know much more than me, but I have tried several chars with One-Hand Melee and Thought:Electrical. I was not completely comfortable with them - but I did not use Evasion with those Tags, which might have improved the characters.
It's nice to think of your char as role-playing, but I don't think the game really lends itself well to that. Based on D&D, yes (like most of these games), but with little leeway for imagination.
But it is worth giving it a go, imo.

You will learn a lot from it. I have learnt a great deal from my aborted games.
