Exiting the Stargate on the new world, Collins immediately crouched down and headed for cover. Where the previous planet had been only occupied by wildlife and their operation, this one was fortified by Jaffa. Around the 'gate were dotted ruins, possibly a relic of whoever used to live here, before the Goa'uld destroyed and enslaved them. Having ruins around a Stargate usually meant that it was important to them, though they may have seen it as a ringed relic rather than it's true purpose. With the amount of address combinations someone could spend forever dialling addresses and getting nowhere especially if they didn't know their Point of Origin symbol.
At least there was a DHD and no Jaffa, Goa'uld or whatever other people lived here around. Getting shot at would have been bad after all. Still, the Stargate didn't open quietly, so he should make some distance away from it.

Making his way up a ridge, he took out some binoculars, he could scout the encapments from a distance this way. To the east, he could see a walled city and close to it, some troop transports and a Hatak mothership on the ground. Of course, the Hatak might suggest that a System Lord would be in residence, but it depended on the System Lord. Once it seemed that they were happy with a few motherships, then the SGC and SG-1 started it's explorations, caused chaos and now System Lords seemed to have hundred's of ships.
Likely, his contact was in the thick of it, probably in the city, maybe even infiltrated in the Jaffa/Goa'uld ranks. Getting in that city seemed to be the only option. It was at least a few klicks (kilometers) away. A long walk and he could hardly stroll in either, it was likely to be guarded by Jaffa and he would stand out easily in his combat uniform. Maybe an ambush was in order...
