Well, warlocks don't realy use melee at alot, just spells. As do all caster classes in WoW.

If you play on a PvP realm you will not encounter any alliance that can attack you for atleast a couple of days gaming (maybe even a week). The reason for this is that the first 1 or 2 areas that you go to are non-contested areas which mean that you have to instantiate combat with the opposite faction inorder for them to be able to attack you. Therefore you needen't worry about being killed while still learning the controls of the game. And once you have mastered the controls of the game I don't see any real reson why not to choose a PvP realm as the adrenaline rush from being ambushed and killing the attackee is amazing

That being said I play on Stormreaver PvP realm on the EU servers, so I might be biased.
