| I take a straight fighter, a straight cleric, a rogue until about 4th/5th level then fighter after that (and yes, I eat the 20% penalty) and another fighter. When I pick up Jarial I use him to primarily cast Haste (you'd be surprised how much more effective your other four are with it activated) and I pick up Emmerich. I've never had any problems finishing the game with that pack. The only other trade you might make would be using Jarial to swap out with the paladin that's trapped by the sword.
