Because I hate Diablo ... it scared me off 'RPG' from '96 until I got Mac NWN in 2003.
Most 'Diablo Clones', however, have interesting differentiating features that make them interesting. And, older ones I can get for a couple of $ on eBay (like Darkstone or Revenant or Nox, for instance)
