Another suggestion is to try to disable him - stasis, concussion grenades etc. Or even just three thermal detonators under him
Seriously though, I had trouble occasionally with "boss" jedi even at medium levels because occasionally they go on crazy draining sprees and immense force use. Then again, when you reload you kill them with three or four attacks.
