So I'm halfway sick with allergies & a headache, but I'm still at work... And I'm getting fairly fed up with this BS.. (not short for Bloodstalker)
Anyway, I'm just curious if there are any others out there in my shoes. I desperately need to vent a bit about my job!
So I'm a temp (fat lotta good my conflict resolution/communication degrees are giving me) at a design company that sells kitchens. The problem is that they sell three times more kitchens than they have installers that can install them. Add to that the fact that the salespeople that work here never return customers' phone calls, and you've got me in the middle, answering phones from pissed off clients that have boxes where their kitchens should be.
Scenario:
ME: Welcome to Norema, how may I help you?"
CUSTOMER: "Yeah hi, we bought a kitchen from you three months ago, and we still haven't received it. We've left five messages and three emails with you guys, and still no-one has contacted us. I have to say this is LOUSY SERVICE, AND I DEMAND TO SPEAK WITH THE PERSON IN CHARGE RIGHT NOW!"
ME: "I'm sorry sir, they're in a meeting now. Can I take a message & have them call you back?"
CUSTOMER: "I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS ****! ARE YOU GUYS IN A SERIOUS BUSINESS? YOU CAN'T TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS LIKE THIS!!"
ME: "Once again sir, I can only apologize. i promise I will hunt down the individual you are looking for, and have them call you back ASAP."
CUSTOMER: "All right, you better..."
Then I'll go tell the person they wanted to speak to, and they invariably reply "sure, I'll get right on it!" And of course they do nothing about it. The end result being the customer calling back a few days later and tearing me a new one again!!
Also, I have to lie for them -all the time-. "Hey axl, I'm busy today. Can you tell customers that I'm at home sick?" -That's a typical one...
I'm just curious if other people have job-related frustrations. I can't be the only one escaping my pooey (can I say that?) job by posting here, can I?
PS: I really needed to get this stuff down on the proverbial paper. I'm speaking my **** mind!
PPS: Keeping this thread clean was pretty hard...
