It isn't finding all your free space because it is an old game that didn't know how to use large harddisk (think the line was/is 2GB)
It is a common problem with older software and new hardware 
I've often had to install old software on harddrives where it said I didn't have enough free space because it couldnt' meassure the harddrive size proberly
