| I love Aasimars, and usually give them an odd appearance, such as feathery hair, or non-functional wings. I do like tieflings as well, but for some reason I'm just more drawn to Aasimar, perhaps it's that I like to play charismatic characters. I'm pretty sure that in the Races of Faerun book there is a feat that Aasimars and tieflings can take to have functional wings, I really dig that.
As for when it comes to half-fiends or half-celestials though, I actually am more into half-fiends.
What I would really like to see are aasimar and tiefling broken down into subtypes with different stats. It makes no sense to me that someone with erinyes or succubi heritage would have charisma penalty, they should inherit some degree of the ancestor's supernatural charisma. Likewise some tieflings like ones descended from a balor, should probably have a bonus to strength since it's their ancestor's highest attribute. I'm sure though that aasimar and tiefling were just all given same attribute bonuses, penalties due to limited space, but a book expanding on them with different varieties would be nice (I did see that elven and orc tieflings have been done). I'd also like to see aasimars of non-human heritage, like ones that are part elf. |
