| There isn't one. If you've played the game, you know that there are many different kinds of damage. A weapon with poor basic damage may also paralyze and poison its victim. Another weapon does great basic damage, but is very slow to hit, while a third absorbs fatigue, causing its victim to get in fewer swings. A fourth does frost, fire or shock damage--or maybe a little of each. If you're lucky, they may also cast a shield of the same element around you, just in case your opponent has Reflect running.
So as I said, there's no real answer to your question. It depends on what you favor, your armor, your opponent, etc. Too many factors.
