Actually, I tried that too. It took me a while to actually...um....read the book, as in, put the Golem parts in *without* removing the talisman first which will activate the pedestles. Then I tried clicking on them to see if they gave any hint as to which spells should go where, in case it was "pedestle dependent" for example. But no, they didn't say a work to me. It just says, "This pedestle is inscribed with runes and is a conduit (or has the potential to be powerful)"- something along those lines.

When I cast the spell through two of them, they stopped that rhythmic red glowing thing, so I thought that indicated that I'd done the right thing.

I might have one more go to see if I get any interaction. Otherwise, hang it, I'll forge on without the darn golem. From what other people have been saying, it might be best to fight without too many in my party any way. I finally killed The Maker, and got 298 experience points for it. I fight the Whattheirnames outside the Maker's building and get creamed. I would have said the Maker was more powerful, but there we go. However, I need a henchman since even with good spell craft and/or concentration, she gets whacked when sword swinging thugs move in.....
