Well, my unofficial patch doesn't seem to work properly. I did following. I installed the official patch (I think it was 1.02d), and afterwards I installed the unofficial patch 1.05. But the unofficial still patch doesn't change all the values described in the readme file. It doesn't change the Military base to medium size. And it doesn't change the appearance on Sulik wearing the power armor. (The Readme says that your party should change their appearance depending on which armor they're wearing)
But the patch adds the phazer gun to the game. And it does remove the three hidden chests in Broken Hills. Don't see what I have done wrong
