There are a number of "in" jokes throughout both DD and BD. For example, in BD, one of your first quests involves a ghost of a prisoner that doesn't realize he's dead, and continues to dig an underground tunnel to safety. His name is Edmond--too obviously Edmond Dante, the so-called Count of Monte Cristo.
