I didn't like Syberia - I can't presicely point to why, but I felt the puzzles where more there for the sake of the puzzles, and not to advance the story.
The story didn't appeal to me much either, which didn't help.

But it is an older game, should you should be able to get it for rather cheap now


As for the Adventure game I remember playing most (Other then Lessiure Suit Larry 1 ) is "Riddle of Master Lu". That one I liked greatly.

Also in my old days played games like Heart Of China. A nice romantic adventure game consisting of still pictures iirc with some action sequences - such as driving a tank or fencing on top of a moving train
