uhmm, as far as the turrets are concerned if they fire once you are dead. they don't have to repeatedly fire, they are an insta-kill devices, just like the turrets outside the elevator to the undercity on taris. one hit your dead sort of thing. simple plot devices. you don't have to be hit repeatedly.
so if they fire you are dead, that simple. it is not recognizing your disguises for whatever reason, try switching clothes and back into the sandpeople clothes again.
and make sure you don't have the wookie in your party. this is usually self-explanatory, but thought i'd point it out anyway.
