Actually, I had heard that this particular gaff occurred on the Tonight Show, when Johnny was interviewing Arnold Palmer's wife and she admited to the kissing. His response earned him a lawsuit from the Palmers.....
Another lawsuit I heard about against Johnny Carson involved Zsa Zsa Gabor, who had brought her feline companion on the show. She asked "Vould you like to pet my pu$$y?" and he said, "Sure. Move the cat."
Of course, this was all hearsay back when I was in Jr. High, and the jokes had to be explained to me!
