Nighthawk: the reason why I wanted to know the whereabouts of Koshi is because I found some indication he is somehow involved in the Twisted Rune thingy.
After completing the game, I took a look at the 'dialog.tlk' file in the BG II directory. It contains all the dialog in the entire game, and I searched for 'Twisted Rune'. Somewhere in the file I stumbled across the dialog of the Lich in the Twisted Rune, before he attacks. It was mixed up with the dialog of the Drizzt Encounter (how the game can correctly make up good dialogs with all that mess is a small mystery in itself). If you mentally get rid of all the Drizzt dialog texts, you are left with that of the TR Lich. One of the lines says something about Koshi, and a scroll he has supposedly written, about the TR, where it is, and how to get there.
However, since not only the Guarded Compound is also a bit weird (no obvious quest leading there), but you neither found a scroll on Koshi after killing him, I start to wonder ... did they originally plan this quest, and in the end removed it, albeit not completely?? Or can this scroll be found elsewhere??  |
