My Fallout career started with trying the demo of Fallout 1 and thinking - hmm - seems great and didn't think much of it.
Years later I bought Fallout 2 and played it through 2-4 times and not touching other games. I was hooked
Then I was lucky enough to get Fallout 1 free with a computer magazine and played it though 2 times in a row and then the Fallout 2 again. Fallout 2 suddenly had so much more debt because I know knew Fallout 1.
After this I bought Fallout: Tactics and loved it (have always loved such tactical games - and this was in Fallout univers)
But as always with such games I am destent to re-start the game umpteen times in search for the "perfect char. for me"
(think I restarted Fallout 2 like 15 times before making it to the second city)

So how somebody can find Fallout 1+2 boring enough to not play them through is beyond me

I can only advise that you give it another try and stick with it through the first couple of hours, and when you character has gained a couple of levels (or 5) and still think it is dull, then it is certainly not something for you - and no same in that (I for instance didn't like IWD and expansions )

But imo it is good games with a very solid and intersting story line and it is worth at least a decent shot
