Rules that i've seen place Drizzt as a pure ranger by 3ed rules. I don't know Zaknefien's (bad spelling) class though (probably just fighter with dual-wielding feats). I've also read the Dark Elf Trilogy and at the end of that Zak was only barily better then Drizzt. He still has the Icewind Dale Trilogy and about 6 other books about him to read.
