| Don't change your rogue/sorcerer, you're just not using it correctly. Give this character a bow, use the mage armor spell, haste, and other prep spells. Many items in the game can only be used by mages, or thieves, so look for them. Keep this character in the back ranks, use magic (confusion is great, followed by fireball - can you say toast?), when the magic runs out, use the bow. Give a secondary weapon (there are many good ones, some are daggers, others are shortswords) for the times your character gets in trouble. Consider adding the monk class to this character, or a fighter class. That will boost his/her power. For the fighter class, consider the paladin, it shares charisma with the mage (for turning, and for lay on hands, etc). The monk class is good for saves, and ac (and also for monk only items, like the dbl-dam book). Never despair, there is always a way to turn that wishy-washy character into an asset. |
