If not you haven't converted you're savegames, and i recommand

Uninstalling BG&ToTSC (backup you're savegame)
Installing BG
Copying you're savegame in
Installing ToTSC
And YES to convert

Just changing the MConvert helped my problem I did Durlag's Tower this weekend which was pretty fun
