Traps are certainly not overrated. They are very effective. Some may think of them as 'cheese'. I think of them as a thief's only real power. Thieves are pretty much screwed in computer roleplaying games, as their best features are either not utilized, or easy duplicable by the overabundance of magic. This is what thieves have, and I for one do not think they are cheesy in the least bit. They make sense both gamewise and roleplaying-wise. That's what thieves do. Theyre sneaky and they don't fight toe to toe if they don't have to. If they have a chance to set up a trap before someone arrives, or lead them to one, why wouldn't they?
