Regarding feats:

For every class except Fighter, the game assigns them to you (based on the class you're leveling in) at your PC's level 1, 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, and 30. So you can have a maximum of 11 feats; 12 if you're a Human.

Fighters get their feats, however, based on their Fighter level (not the PC's overall level). They get two feats* at levels 1, 6 and 12; plus a feat at levels 2, 3, 4, 8, 10, 14 and 16. And this is in addition to any other feats they may learn from their other class.

So if you have a multiclass fighter/cleric, for example, you'd want to make sure you leveled up as a Cleric when your PC's overall level is at 1, or 3, or 6, etc. Otherwise you'd never see any of the clerical feats you were hoping for (like Extra Turning, Combat Casting or Spell Penetration).

I have a strategy guide that lists which feats each class gets, in what order; I'll transcribe it here if anyone is interested.

*But they only learn both feats if they didn't already have either feat. Otherwise, they get just the one they were missing (or the next one on the list, if they somehow already had them both).
