QUESTS AVAILABLE

Kill Mayor (Quest Automatically Given): The mayor lied - the Brotherhood paladins never went down into the crater. Break his fucking neck. HINT: The mayor will both throw explosives and set explosive traps on the ground.

Escape Crater (Quest Automatically Given): All of those explosions have caused the crater walls to become unstable. Get out of the crater as quickly as possible. Watch out for falling rocks!


MAYOR

You knew the mayor was shady. Now you find out his true intent. He has sold you out to the Raiders. He does tell you about the Brotherhood paladins, though, which updates your ongoing quest by pointing you into the direction of the Raider Matron.

During the fight, you should be able to make short work of any Raiders that attack if you bought the hunting rifle from Jesse. The mayor will run around throwing bombs, so make sure you watch your health meter. Patience is key, as is hit and run tactics. If you stand toe to toe with him, he'll drop two or three bombs, then run right before they go off, leaving them to take you out in one blast. 300 experience points is yours once the mayor is lying face down in the dirt.


EXPLOSION

Exit the area (the lower crater area, not just the pit) quickly after the fight because the bombs have caused a cave in. Not only will you have to fight new critters on your way out (including another mother Radscorpion), but you will periodically have to deal with falling rocks. Once you are back to the deserted camp, you get 100 experience points for escaping the crater.
