Location: The Capitol Building

Did we miss anything in this section? Is there something we didn't discover? Let us know!

Overview

The Capitol Building is a war zone. You’ll encounter super-mutants and Talon Company mercenaries battling each other inside and outside of it, and, depending on where you are in the campaign, you might even run into some Enclave soldiers. So unless you’re really feeling gung ho, or you have ammunition to spare, you should let the various factions duke it out and then take out whatever remains.

1 - Cubicle

You’ll find a copy of Tales of a Junktown Jerky Vendor and a Pre-War Book in the cubicle.

2 - Counter

You’ll find a bottle of Nuka-Cola Quantum on the counter.

3 - Locked Storage Room

If you can get past the “hard” lock on the door, then inside the storage room you’ll find a first aid box and a copy of Nikola Tesla and You.

4 - Turret Control Terminal

This terminal controls the turrets in the rotunda (#5).

5 - Rotunda

You’ll encounter a super-mutant behemoth in the rotunda, plus several regular super-mutants and Talon Company mercs. For the easiest battle, let the two sides beat up on each other for a while, and turn on the turrets in the room (via the turret control terminal at #3). The behemoth can only do melee damage, and it won’t be able to fit through any of the doors, so when you have to attack it yourself, you can just stand in the hallway and snipe it from afar.

All of the corpses in the room will drop lots of loot, and you’ll also find some shelves in the southeastern corner, where you’ll be able to pick up a Missile Launcher, a Mini Nuke, a copy of U.S. Army: 30 Handy Flamethrower Recipes, and some ammunition and grenades.

6 - Staircase

You can use this staircase to reach the balcony (#7).

7 - Balcony (Upper Level)

On the southern railing you’ll find a copy of the D.C. Journal of Internal Medicine. Nearby you’ll also find some .308 Caliber Rounds and an ammunition box.

8 - Turret Control Terminal

9 - Table

Under the table you’ll find three ammunition boxes. On top of the table you’ll find some ammunition and meds.

10 - Locked Storage Room

If you can get past the “hard” lock on the door, then inside the storage room you’ll find a first aid box and a copy of the Chinese Army: Spec. Ops. Training Manual.

11 - Locked Storage Room

If you can get past the “average” lock on the door, then inside the storage room you’ll find a first aid box.

12 - Podium

On top of the podium you’ll find (what else?) a copy of Lying, Congressional Style. Near the podium you’ll also find a pair of ammunition boxes.

13 - Staircases

You’ll need to climb one of these staircases to reach the northern side of the Conference Hall.

Exits:
  1. Exit to the wasteland (Seward Square).
  2. Doorway between the West Entrance and the East Entrance.
  3. Exit to the wasteland (The Mall).
  4. Doorway between the West Entrance and the Hall of Columns.
  5. Doorway between the Hall of Columns and the Conference Hall.
  6. Doorway between the Conference Hall and the West Entrance. You won’t be able to reach this doorway from the main part of the West Entrance. You’ll only be able to use it as an exit from the Conference Hall. When you go through the doorway, some new super-mutants and Talon Company mercs will appear in the rotunda (#5).
