4 - The Museum of History

The Museum of History has two parts. The lower part is filled with feral ghouls and Abraham Lincoln memorabilia. This part is covered in the quest entry for Head of State. The upper part of the museum is the home to civilized ghouls. See the Underworld location entry for more information on this part.


5 - The Washington Monument

The Washington Monument is involved in the main quest Galaxy News Radio. Please see that quest entry for more information on the location.


6 - The Lincoln Memorial

The Lincoln Memorial is involved in the side quest Head of State. See that quest entry for more information.


7 - Dukov's Place

Dukov lives here with his "party girls" Cherry and Fantasia. You'll find a bottle of Nuka-Cola Quantum and a copy of Pugilism Illustrated in an upstairs bedroom, but otherwise there isn't much reason to visit this place unless you're on the side quest You Gotta Shoot 'Em in the Head.


8 - Tepid Sewer

The Tepid Sewer is involved in the Chapter 2 Mole Rat Task of the Wasteland Survival Guide. See the relevant quest entry for more information. The sewer leads north to Georgetown West (Metro K).


9 - Anchorage War Memorial

The Anchorage War Memorial is involved in the Chapter 2 Mirelurk Task in the Wasteland Survival Guide. See the relevant quest entry for more information about the location.

11 - GNR Building Plaza

You'll visit the Galaxy News Radio Building Plaza during the quest Following in His Footsteps. Please see that quest entry for more information.

17 - Rock Creek Caverns


18 - Friendship Heights

The entrance to Tenleytown / Friendship Station is located here. See the quest entry for Following in His Footsteps for more information on it. You'll also encounter a raider base just to the south of the station. If you clear out the raiders, then you'll find lots of guns, ammunition, and meds scattered around. You'll also find some beds you can sleep on.


19 - Chryslus Building


20 - Super-Duper Mart

The Super-Duper Mart is involved in the Chapter 1 Food Task of the Wasteland Survival Guide. See the relevant quest entry for more information.


21 - Wilhelm's Wharf

You won't find much here, just a minor trader named Grandma Sparkle and her shack. If you rummage around in the shack you'll find a Hunting Rifle, some ammunition, and more (you'll also find a "green" bed, but you won't be able to sleep in it). If you kill Grandma Sparkle, then you'll gain her key, which will give you access to the refrigerator outside the shack, where you'll find 100+ caps, a Frag Grenade, two Stimpaks, and a few miscellaneous items.

Northwest of the shack, you can enter a sewer grate that will lead you to Hubris Comics.


22 - Sewer Waystation


23 - Grayditch

24 - Trucks and Tent

You'll find a tent here, with some trucks parked around it to give it some extra defense. After defeating the super-mutants who are using it, inside the tent and trucks you'll find three ammunition boxes, a first aid box, a copy of Pugilism Illustrated (in a shelf inside the yellow truck), Keller Family Transcript 5 (on a table inside the tent), and a captive (inside the tent).

25 - Arlington House

Inside Arlington House, you'll find three things of interest: a Bobblehead - Luck doll (in a shelf in the basement), a shrine to Abraham Lincoln (also in the basement), and a Big Book of Science (on the table in the kitchen). If you have the Lawbringer perk, then you'll also encounter Junders Plunkett in the house, and he'll drop a special finger plus the unique Spiked Knuckles Plunkett's Valid Points when he dies. If you turn in the finger to Sonora Cruz at Regulator HQ (in the northern suburbs), then she'll pay you 1000 caps for it.

Note: You can find a bounty notice for Plunkett on the corpse of a dead Regular on the stairs leading to Arlington Cemetery North (Metro W), but the corpse, just like Plunkett, will only appear if you have the Lawbringer perk.

You'll find a pair of underground entrances at this location. The Tepid Sewer is involved in the Chapter 2 Mole Rat Task of the Wasteland Survival Guide, and you can follow it to the Tepid Sewer location to the south (#8). The DCTA Tunnel 014-B Potomac is a sewer / metro system that connects (via adjacent sewers and metro systems) to many locations, including Arlington Cemetery North (Metro W) and Dupont West (Metro M).

In between the two underground entrances you'll encounter some super-mutants camped out in a ruined building. If you climb up into the building, you'll find some ammunition boxes and a copy of Grognak the Barbarian.

You can also visit a couple of small buildings in the area (located to the north). In Radiation King, you'll meet a scavenger who will repair your equipment and sell you a few things. At the Grocer, you'll have to fend off a couple of radroaches, but inside you'll find a first aid box, a locked floor safe, and more.
