Side Quest: Quest of the Snow Pup

Did we miss anything in this section? Is there something we didn't discover? Let us know!

Background

You'll receive this quest from Lord Brumbelton in Durnore.

Walkthrough

Lord Brumbelton (#1) will tell you that the Dwarves consider Snow Wolves to be a "sacred symbol" of their land, and he'll ask you to capture a single Snow Pup from the alpha wolf Shebara, so the Dwarves can domesticate it and then move freely around Hellice Lake without fear of being attacked.

You'll find Shebara's den in the Western Hellice Lake (#2). Shebara will attack you on sight, so to complete the quest as intended, you'll either need to hide or go invisible, or just run up to the den, take a pup, and then run away. Whatever you do, don't kill Shebara. If Shebara dies, then you won't be allowed to complete the quest.

At Shebara's den, you'll have two options: you can take a single Snow Pup like you're supposed to, or you can take multiple Snow Pups. Either way, when you return to Lord Brumbelton, you'll be able to tell him that you only took one, and he'll reward you with 750 gp and 2000 xp for your efforts. However, if you took more than one Snow Pup, then when you complete the quest, several Snow Wolves will attack Durnore, and it's possible that some of the Dwarves will get killed.

Note: After completing the quest, you can return to Shebara's den and kill Shebara and loot the rest of the Snow Pups (which are worth 250 gp each), and nobody will notice.
