Background

Warrior type characters (Warrior, Soldier, Archer, Mercenary, Sapper, Pirate, Tribal Warrior, Amazon) start out with this quest as the Complete Your Training quest. In your inventory you will find an item that you must present to Captain Nimralph, who you can find in the barracks in the northern part of Nadoret.

1 - Destroy the Training Dummy & Defeat Pagol

Captaing Nimralph will first test you out before proceeding with your training. Destroy the wooden dummy by attacking it three times, netting you 30AP.

Recruit Pagol is not much more difficult, having 25 VI and fighting with a wooden sword. Chip him down to half his VI and you finish the quest The Entry Test and get 30AP. If he takes you down to half health he wins, which means you still finish the quest but get no adventure points.

Your traveling chest is now made available to you, and it contains 1x Oneberry Juice, Fables From the Kosh, Black Soldier's Pants and a Nadoretian Tabard. The quest The Patrol is also opened, talk to Recruit Pagol to start it. He will take you out on night patrol, the noticeable events of which are noted below.

2 - Locked Out Townsperson at Corner Alley

A citizen has been locked out of his home and is making a ruckus. You can calm him down with a Fast Talk talent check but either way you'll get him to leave for 30AP.

3 - Cat Behind the Temple of Praios

A cat gives Pagol a fright. Nothing here, but it nets you 30AP.

4 - Drunks on the Marketplace

Two drunks are badmouthing the Baron Dajin, loudly. Either grab the fine of 5T Pagol suggests, Fast Talk them up to 10T, or let them walk off with a warning. Whatever your choice, getting them to leave nets you 30AP.

5 - Wolf Rats

You are attacked by four wolf rats. Horrible creatures, I avoid them whenever I can.

6 - Broad Road Robbers

You catch three thugs in the act of robbing a wealthy townsman. Defeat them for 30AP. In the ensuing conversation with the wealthy townsman, you can question him on why he was out late for a Fast Talk check.

7 - Breakin at the Harbor Warehouse

Two thieves break into a warehouse before your eyes. Follow them in and apprehend them. Pagol will leave to fetch the harbor master, and you will have to fight the thieves alone, no matter what dialog options you go for. They don't pose much of a challenge.

Pagol and you return to the Captain where you report on the events. This nets you a final 30 APs and closes The Patrol. A peasant runs in to notify the captain of a Dispute At The Tollgate, which is your next quest.

8 - Dispute At The Tollgate

A pair of seedy looking characters are trying to get in without being searched and without proper documentation. There's a Fast Talk or Intimidate check you can pass here before the Harbormaster stomps in to force you to let them through. You get 30AP after they pass on. After resting a bit with your fellow guardsman, Miller Speltgood's daughter appears to tell you some men are being attacked by wolves.

9 - Slay the Wolf

Guardsman Gardenwood joins you for this part of the quest and his blade is a big help. There six wolves in total and the blood wolf to fight here, though you should be able to fight three wolves, rest and then fight the rest. You gain 30AP for defeating the blood wolf.

Laurelin the Elf appears immediately after to explain what you just fought. Gardenwood hands you the Letter quest item but it is worthwhile to loot the dead men and bullock before moving on, the haul: 1D 5F, 2z Silver Ring, 2x Silver Chain, 2x Horned Helmet, 2x Whetstone, 12x Tin Figure, 2x Perfume, Salty Kosh Bunting Tongues, 7x Small Bale of Cloth, Candle Holder

Return to Captain Nimralph for to Finish Your Training with your final report, receiving a salute, 100AP and the Nadoretian Heraldric Shield.

For warrior type characters this also unlocks Captain Nimralph as a trainer. He can teach you Offensive Combat I, Defensive Combat I, Mighty Blow, Master Parry, Armor Use I, Shield Fighting I, Crossbows, Swords, Spears, Two-Handed Axes & Maces, Two-Handed Sword.
