Background

Owlstone the Hunter will give you this quest when you talk to him at his lodge in the Dark Forest (#1).


Walkthrough

Owlstone will tell you that a wild bear has been attacking travelers in the area, and he'll ask you to bring him back its head. You'll find the bear in the mineshaft to the east (#2). The bear can be tough, so you might want to pick up Rhulana (#4) and Dranor (#5) first, or rescue Rakorium (#3) from the mineshaft and then detour to attack the bear on your way out (since Rakorium will only stay with you while you're in the mineshaft).

When the bear dies, you'll gain 30 experience points, and you'll automatically pick up the Bear's Head. Then when you deliver the head to Owlstone (#1), you'll receive 5 more experience points, and Owlstone will pay you 25 thalers for killing the bear. However, Owlstone won't want the head, and he'll suggest that you sell it to the innkeeper at the Jagged Blade (#4). This will trigger the quest "The Hunting Trophy," which will net you 2 ducats and 10 experience points when you bring the head to the innkeeper.
