Ability Scores
Strength

Strength measures muscle and physical power. It affects:

• Melee attack rolls
• Damage rolls with melee or thrown weapons
• Strength checks (for breaking down doors and the like)


Dexterity

Dexterity measures hand-eye coordination, agility, reflexes, and balance. It affects:

• Ranged attack rolls
• Armor Class
• Reflex saving throws
• Escape Artist, Hide, Move Silently, Open Locks, and Tumble checks


Constitution

Constitution represents your character's health and stamina. It affects:

• Hit Die
• Fortitude saving throws
• Concentration checks


Intelligence

Intelligence determines how well your character learns and reasons. It affects:

• The number of skill points gained each level
• Appraise, Disable Device, Knowledge, Search, Psicraft, and Spellcraft checks
• A Wizard's bonus spells and a Psion's bonus powers
• The minimum score required to cast a Wizard spell is 10 + the spell's level
• The minimum score needed to manifest a Psion power is 10 + the power's level


Wisdom

Wisdom describes a character's willpower, common sense, perception, and intuition. It affects:

• Will saving throws
• Autohypnosis, Heal, Listen, Sense Motive, Spot, and Survival checks
• Bonus spells for Clerics, Druids, Paladins, and Rangers, as well as bonus powers for Psychic Warriors
• The minimum score required to cast a Cleric, Druid, Paladin, or Ranger spell is 10 + the spell's level
• The minimum score needed to manifest a Psychic Warrior power is 10 + the power's level


Charisma

Charisma measures a character's force of personality, persuasiveness, personal magnetism, ability to lead, and physical attractiveness. It affects:

• Bluff, Intimidate, Perform, and Use Magic Device checks
• Turning checks for Clerics and Paladins attempting to turn undead
• Bonus spells for Sorcerers and Bards
• The minimum score required to cast a Sorcerer or Bard spell is 10 + the spell's level
