The Undercellar [Chapter 7]

Your mission here is to intercept Slythe and Krystin, the two assassins hired by Sarevok to kill Duke Entar and soon Duke “Belt” and Duke Liia Jannath. Slythe has an invitation required to enter the Duchal Palace (Northern part of BG) and a letter which directly incriminates Sarevok in the murders of the dukes.


1- SLYTHE AND KRYSTIN:

Slythe admits killing Entar and his wife tells you that they’re about to kill the 2 other Grand Dukes. You can actually fight them separately if you stay out of Krystin’s line-of-sight. Slythe himself is rather easy but he can do some damage to your party. You should use the Girdle of Piercing and a protection spell(like Protection from Evil) if you don’t want to take any damage. He is worth 5000 Exp. and carries some loot: Short Sword of Backstabbing, Potion of Master Thievery, Invitation(important) and a Letter(important). Krystin herself is invisible when you meet her. To detect her use Dispel Magic or Detect Invisibility. She is protected by the following spells: Mirrored Image, Minor Globe of Invulnerability and Shield. Kill her quickly with missile weapons for 3000 Exp. and some loot: 10 Bullets +1, 10 Bullets +2, Dagger +2 “Longtooth”, Sling +1 and the following spells: Clairvoyance, Flame Arrow, Monster Summoning I, Non-Detection, Protection from Normal Missiles, Skull Trap and Vampiric Touch. Once they’re dead you should probably head for the Duchal Palce in the Northern part of Baldur’s Gate.

You are also brought to this spot by the priest of Ilmater from Ilmater’s Shrine (see North-Eastern part of BG for more details).
