High Hedge

Did we miss anything in this location? Is there something we didn't discover? Let us know!

High Hedge is situated immediately to the West of Beregost. It is a countryside dominated by a big keep, the residence of Thalantyr the Conjurer. The recent apparition of the evil priest of Cyric, Bassilius, led to a spawn of skeletons in the region. Moreover, Thalantyr keeps 2 Flesh Golems in his keep; it is his way to greet the wary travelers.

1- KIVAN:

Kivan (CG, Elf Male, Ranger) is a ranger who wants to get his revenge over Tazok, a half-ogre who recently killed his loved-one. Kivan will agree to join you if you have a good reputation.

2- PERMIDION STARK:

A thief who was trying to find a way to get the treasures of High Hedge. He hints to the fact that the 2 Flesh Golems can only be hit by magic(+1 or better) weapons. He then decides that it would be better for him to find a halfling village to rob.

3- HOUSE:

The house has been deserted for a reason or another, but it looks quite cozy. There is a chest in the room in which you can find an Aquamarine Gem. You might also use the house to rest, although I haven’t tried it myself.

4- HIGH HEDGE:

The residence of Thalantyr the Conjurer. He has 2 Flesh Golems which will attack you unless you speak with Thalantyr. If you are looking for some good experience, you might try to take them down for a total of 4000 Exp. Be careful, however, as you need magic weapons to hit them.

Shop: A very good selection of magic ammunitions, scrolls of protection, magic scrolls(levels 1-3), potions, Wand of Sleep, Wand of Fear, the Horn of Kazgaroth, the Claw of Kazgaroth, the Robe of the Good Archmagi and the Robe of the Neutral Archmagi.

Quest: Once you find Melicamp South of High Hedge, you’ll need to bring him to Thalantyr so that he can be transformed back into his human form. You’ll need the skull of a skeleton, but there are plenty around so it should be pretty easy to get one. Thalantyr’s spell has some chances to fail, so save before. If Melicamp is polymorphed successfully into his human form, you will get 2000 Exp. and +1 Reputation. If Melicamp dies, reload the game and try again.

5- GNOLLS:

There are 3 gnolls here: a normal, a slasher and a veteran. One of them possesses Perdue’s Short Sword. Once you have it, bring it back to Perdue at the Red Sheaf Inn in Beregost.
