The mine has 4 levels, each with a different purpose. The upper level is used as a mining site. The second level is used as a prison and as a storehouse. The third level is used for the forge and for the soldiers’ rooms. Finally, the fourth floor is used by Davaeorn himself. He has his room, kitchen, library and even a shrine in there.
1- ENTRY POINT:
Upon entering this level you will be greeted by 6 Guards and 3 Hobgoblin Archers so be ready. The fight should be quite easy.
2- ROOM:
You’ll meet a Guard in here which is easy to dispatch. Be sure to search all the chests for 5 Acid Arrows, 5 Arrows of Biting, Sleep, Shocking Grasp, some gems and some gold.
3- ROOM:
Not much of importance here besides some gems and some gold.
4- ROOM:
There is another guard in this room. Search the chests for a Potion of Fire Giant Strength, a Potion of Mirrored Eyes, a Potion of Strength, a scroll of Dispel Magic and some gold.
5- ARMORY:
There is some descent loot here including a Plate Mail, a Studded Leather +1 and a Small Shield +1. Other basic weapons and armors can also be found, but no guards.
6- ROOM:
You’ll find Natasha and 6 Hobgoblin Elites in this room. Natasha is a good spell caster worth 1200 Exp. She casts such things as Mirrored Image and Confusion. Take care of her quickly with missile weapons. The Fireball spell might also help you clean this room. There is some descent loot on her including a Traveler’s Robe and 4 scrolls: Ghoul Touch, Slow, Hold Person and Mirrored Image.
7- TORTURE ROOM:
An Ogre Mage can be found in here who tells you a bit about the last guy he killed. When you meet him he is under the effect of the Improved Invisibility spell. He also casts such things as Confusion. Kill him for 650 Exp. There is a Laeral’s Tear Necklace (worth 3000 gp.!) and some other gems on him.
8- DORMITORY 1:
4 Hobgoblins and 4 Hobgoblin Archers can be found in here. Search the chests for a Potion of Magic Protection and a Protection from Acid scroll. Be careful as the other scroll is cursed.
9- DORMITORY 2:
Another 4 Hobgoblins and 4 Hobgoblin Archers can be found in this room. Search the chests for 354 gp. and a Spear +1.
10- SHRINE:
There is a Guard you’ll have to dispatch in here. Search the shrine for a few potions: Elixir of Health, Potion of Healing, Potion of Stone Giant Strength and Potion of Invulnerability.
11- EXIT TO LEVEL 4
