AR2800 (Crossroads)

Did we miss anything in this location? Is there something we didn't discover? Let us know!

This is the place where the Way of the Lion branches off the main Coastway. To the North sits the peaceful keep of the Friendly Arm, to the West is the citadel of Candlekeep with its imposing library and to the South is the commercial town of Beregost. Though this area used to be quite peaceful, numerous bandit raids in the past few months made the travelers rare.

Important characters:
- Elminster the Sage (CG, Human Male, Wizard 29th level)

1- OLD MAN (ELMINSTER):

Greets you and asks you to stay a moment and chat with him. Even though he doesn’t tell you anything of interest, you get the feeling that he knows much more than he tells.

2- SPOILER (LOCATION: X 1006, Y 1114):

Search the hole in the rock between the trees and you’ll find a Ring of Protection +1.

3- AOLN:

A ranger who warns you against the dangers of the area and asks you to keep your voices down.

4- OGRE:

He has a Girdle of Piercing(thin) and a Girdle of Masculinity/Feminity(thick) on him. Be careful as not to mix the two because the later is cursed. The ogre can pose quite a challenge for a level 1 party. One strategy that usually works is to make the ogre chasse 1 character while the others attack him with missile weapons or spells.

5- DEKE AND 5 BANDITS (CHAPTER 3):

In chapter, 3 you’ll meet Deke and 5 other bandits around this spot. They are no tougher than the other bandits you meet, so this shouldn’t be a problem. They use bows and once they are dead don’t forget to scalp them.

6- RECENTLY RAIDED CARAVAN:

As you approach the caravan, you notice a few bodies on the ground. There are only a few gold pieces left for you to grab from a barrel.

7- JASE:

An impertinent kid who threatens to call his mom to give you the belt! He is rather impolite and you’ll not learn anything from him.

8- ANDOUT:

A messenger who is going to deliver a message to Governor Kelldath. You learn from him that a war between Baldur’s Gate and Amn is about to begin.
