Gar is short for Garfield Thelonius Remington III. If you have at least two ranks of persuasion, then when you ask him about tea you can trip him up into showing his true intelligence. After that you can ask H.T. Parnell about “Gar the human” and pretend to blackmail him, and Parnell will let you take Gar off his hands. Then when you talk to Gar next, you can either add him to your party, or you can release him and earn a fate point.
